Freedom Portrait Series

I created a series of influential thinkers by illustrating their portrait freehand then framing and painting on them with bright acrylic paint. Included in the series is social activist Frederick Douglass, Classical Liberal Economists Adam Smith, Milton Friedman and F.A. Hayek.

Coffee Cup Art

I draw on coffee cups for fun and I have probably made 15 coffee cup portraits after many a delicious cappuccino. I started with presidential portraits, I've drawn artists, a couple of the Fab Five, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt characters, Ellen, and a Lichtenstein-inspired drawing.

Illustrations

Hand drawn by yours truly. Sometimes I like to add a little pop of color with some ink or paint, or digital drawings. I have a lot of fun with digital art, because it is so free and open-ended, plus I get to use the brightest and most exciting colors to me. I really enjoy making work by hand, and although tools like Adobe are powerful and incredibly useful, when I am working on expressive personal projects I like to do it all by hand.

I love dabbling in painting when I have the time! I choose oil when I am trying to get detail or rich earthy colors, and I use acrylic for bolder and brighter graphic-style work.
